Vendor renewal terms: the last day to say no

Software renews on the vendor's terms unless you say no in time. Here is what each of these vendors says, in their own words, and how to work out your last day. Last checked on 26 October 2026.

  • Microsoft 365 renewal: the last day to say no

If your billing account is a Microsoft Customer Agreement (the newer type), you only get a refund by cancelling within seven days of the start or renewal; after that you can switch off recurring billing and keep the service until the term ends. Older Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement accounts get a prorated credit or refund when they cancel.

  • Salesforce renewal: the last day to say no

Under Salesforce's standard agreement, your subscription renews for a further year unless you give written notice at least 30 days before the end of the term.

  • HubSpot renewal: how to stop it auto-renewing

HubSpot renews your subscription automatically, and its terms say you must turn off auto-renewal in your account before the end of the current term.

  • Zoom renewal: the last day to say no

Zoom's terms say a subscription renews automatically unless you give notice at least 30 calendar days before the next renewal term starts.

  • Datadog renewal: the last day to say no

Datadog's current agreement renews your order automatically, and you must tell your Customer Success Manager at least 15 days before it expires.

  • Google Workspace renewal: the last day to say no

On an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan, Google's terms say notice of non-renewal must reach Google at least 15 days before the end of the current term, and cancelling earlier still leaves you owing the rest of the commitment. The Flexible Plan renews month to month and can be cancelled at any time.

  • Slack renewal: the last day to say no

Slack's terms of service adopt the Salesforce Main Services Agreement, under which a subscription renews for a further year unless written notice is given at least 30 days before the end of the term, and fees already paid are not refunded.

  • DocuSign renewal: the last day to say no

An eSignature plan bought online renews for the same length of term unless an administrator cancels it at least five business days before the term ends, and DocuSign's terms say the cancellation only takes effect once DocuSign confirms it.

  • QuickBooks Online renewal: the last day to say no

Intuit sets no notice period: a QuickBooks Online subscription renews every monthly or annual period until you cancel it yourself, the cancellation takes effect when the paid period ends, and there is no refund for the unused part of a period.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud renewal: the last day to say no

Adobe refunds a direct plan in full if you cancel within 14 days of the first order. After that, an annual plan billed monthly costs a lump sum of 50% of the remaining contract to cancel, a prepaid annual plan is non-refundable and runs to the end of its term, and the plan renews after year one with no cancel-by date in the terms.
